Air massage system

Yes, the air blower can be installed up to 15 feet from the bathtub, however, consider:

  • Never isolate the blower. It is recommended, however, to insulate the air hose to prevent heat loss.
  • Ambient air around the blower must be maintained at the temperature of the room where the bathtub is located. The blower is not designed to heat cold air from an unheated basement or garage.

Almost all air blowers have an automatic drying cycle that starts 20 minutes after using the system, but consider:

  • If a power failure has occurred, the drying cycle can start on its own.
  • If the system is equipped with a water sensor, the drying cycle will start whenever there has been water in the bath (after a shower, cleaning the bath, etc.).
  • If this happens often, even if the system has not been used, contact your dealer, the keypad may be defective and need to be replaced.

First, check with your dealer if your system has this option. If so,

  • check if the system’s electrical power is powered by a timer or safety switch. If the timer was stopped before the drying cycle, this will prevent the blower from starting;
  • check for water at the bottom of the tub. Your system may have a water sensor that prevents the drying cycle from activating.

Check if the 1 ¼ “air hose, connected between the blower and the manifold, has been disconnected, in which case, reconnect and insert a screw through the neck, hose and blower nose to maintain firmly in place.

Sometimes the jets are clogged with installation debris or calcium buildup. To solve the problem, here’s what to do:

  • Fill the tub with enough hot water to cover the jets from the bottom of the tub.
  • Run the system for about one (1) minute.
  • While the system is running, locate the jets that are not working and lightly hit the top of the jet with a rubber instrument.

The blower is equipped with a thermal protector. If the blower overheats for any reason, it will stop automatically. Let the blower cool for 1 hour to 1 ½ hours and it should resume working again. To prevent this from happening again, check

  • that the blower has not been insulated;
  • there is enough air circulation around it.

To check if the air heater is operating normally, operate the blower for 5 minutes and then touch the air hose connected to the blower. This one should be quite warm.

If the hose is not warm, contact your distributor for instructions on how to change the blower.

If the air hose is warm, the blower is not defective and the feeling of cold may occur occasionally. This is due to the theory that air blown on wet skin will feel cold. For example, the air of the hand dryer in a public restroom will feel cold until the hands are dry.

Some people are more sensitive to this fact than others. The solution is to change position in the bathtub and the feeling of cold will decrease.

If trouble occurs with the “+” button, note that the system always starts at high speed. To verify proper operation, press the “-” button and the blower speed will decrease. Then press the “+” button and the speed should increase.

If this is a problem other than the one mentioned above, your keypad may be defective. Often, a moisture issue in the electronic system occurs after a wet cloth has rested on the keypad or a crack in the keypad label occurs. Contact your distributor so that the keypad is changed.

With a pneumatic button, the solutions are usually simple:

  • If the knob is difficult to press down or goes back up too slowly, it is air accumulated in the pipe. To correct the problem,
    – locate the transparent hose and using a thin needle, drill one or two small holes so that the air evacuates the hose;
    – check that the hose is not bent or twisted, which will prevent air from passing.
  • If the button is easy to handle, unplug it from the air button and blow gently into the hose. Then,
    – if the blower starts, then the problem is in the air button;
    – If the blower does not start, then the problem is located in the blower.

In both cases, contact your distributor to replace defective parts.

Check the main power supply of the house if the breaker is “ON”.

Check your ground leak detector (GFCI) to make sure that it has not tripped.

Most manufacturers test the tub before it leaves their factory. The risks that nothing else works are almost nil. Therefore, turn off the power for 15 seconds and then reconnect it. Your problem should be solved.

If the tub is equipped with a whirlpool pump and an air blower, make sure each is connected to an independent GFCI circuit breaker.

Sometimes this breaker is very sensitive. Unplug the blower and plug in a hair dryer or light instead. If the ground leak detector (GFCI) trips again, a short circuit exists on the power line. Have the problem checked out by an electrician. If the problem still persists, the circuit breaker should be replaced.

Whirlpool massage system

It can not be done because of the installation of the piping and the pump. For proper operation of the pump, it is installed directly under the bathtub and is securely fastened by the manufacturer.

Your tub is equipped with a water level sensor that prevents your system from running dry. Therefore,

  • Add water until you cover all the whirlpool jets and try again.
  • The water level sensor can be triggered by a sensor. Sometimes soap residue may prevent the probe from detecting the water level. Clean the probe with a toothbrush and try again.

This is called “cavitation” and here are the causes:

  • One of the jets is directed towards the suction lid. Just direct the jet in another direction;
  • The union nut on the suction line may not be tight enough. Tighten lightly, by hand only;
  • The whirlpool pump could be installed too high, causing a pocket of air. Lowering the pump slightly should resolve the issue.

The use of soap, oils, shampoos and other products during bathing can cause this problem and this can be solved as follows:

  • Fill the bathtub with lukewarm water.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of liquid dish detergent.
  • Start the system and let it run for 10 minutes.
  • Empty the tub, refill with cold water and run for another 5 minutes.
  • This process must be repeated until the water coming out of the jets is clear.

When this is done at regular intervals, the problem should not repeat itself.

Although occurring very rarely, debris can obstruct the jet. To remove them, here is the procedure:

  • With the palm of your hand flat on the jet cover, turn counter clockwise.
  • Remove the ball and spring from the jet.
  • Remove the jet orifice with a 5/16 “wrench.
  • Remove debris with eyebrow tweezers or a pair of long-nose pliers.
